Cabanas presented by LIFEWTR™️
Indoor and outdoor cabanas are available to rent daily by guests who have pre-purchased a SoundWaves experience. Each cabana seats up to six guests, and conjoining cabanas are available for up to 12 guests. Cabanas include 2 bottles of LIFEWTR™️, refrigerator, and TV. Food and beverage cabana service is available for additional purchase. Once you have reserved your SoundWaves Water Experience package, Cabanas can be reserved at www.SoundWavesCabanas.com and are based on availability.Lockers
Lockers are available within the indoor and outdoor areas and may be rented for a nominal fee. Larger items, such as luggage, will need to be kept in your hotel room, vehicle or stored with Bell Services. Changing facilities and showers are available in SoundWaves as well.Hours of Operations
The indoor attractions are open year round. Outdoor attractions will operate select dates mid-May through Labor Day. VIEW CALENDAR to plan your day*. While check-in time at Gaylord Opryland is 4 p.m., guests with the SoundWaves package may access the water attraction from the time it opens on the day of check-in until noon of the day of check-out. Think ahead and pack a smaller bag with bathing suits and a change of clothes, and store the rest of your luggage with Bell Services so you can enjoy the best of our upscale water attraction as soon as you arrive in Nashville.*Hours and attractions availability are subject to change without notice.

Q I booked a special transient rate; can I upgrade to the SoundWaves Package?
AA limited number of discounts are offered for Marriott Bonvoy members, AAA members, Government Employees and Marriott Associates only. If the package is available you may upgrade; otherwise you must upgrade to the retail package (the only guaranteed access) or, based upon availability, purchase a pass at the SoundWaves Desk on the date of your overnight stay but is not guaranteed. Wristband not required for ages 3 and under. Non-refundable. -
Q Are SoundWaves day passes available?
AThe only guaranteed access to the water attraction is reserving the SoundWaves Water Experience package. Passes may be offered based on availability to other overnight hotel guests on a limited, first-come, first served basis but is not guaranteed; guests may check availability at the SoundWaves Welcome Desk during their stay or via a link in your pre-arrival email if you booked directly with the resort via phone or online. Non-refundable.
Party rooms for 10 to 30 people are offered without an overnight stay. Information can be found on the Experiences tab.

Q What are the operating rules for SoundWaves?
A- NO DIVING
- No children without adult. Children 15 and under will not be permitted into the facility without adult supervision.
- No glass.
- SoundWaves wristbands must be worn at all times.
- Coolers and outside food and beverage is not permitted.
- Bag inspections will take place at entrance.
- Only Coast-Guard-approved life jackets are allowed-no other floatation devices. Life jackets are available throughout the facility at no charge on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Thong-style swimsuits are not permitted.
- Swimwear must be designed for swimming purposes. No cutoff jean shorts, rivets or other excessive ornamentation.
- Please only take photos of people you know. Professional photography equipment is not permitted.
- The property is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Lockers are available for daily use.
- Guests who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
- Do not use the pool if you are ill with diarrhea.
- Any person with an infectious or communicable disease shall not use this facility.
- Spitting, spouting of water, blowing nose, etc. in the pool is strictly prohibited.
- Persons with any considerable area of exposed sub-epidermal tissue, open-blisters, cuts, etc. are advised not to use this pool due to risk of infection.
- No running, boisterous or rough play, on the decks, floats, platforms or in dressing rooms, shower rooms, etc.
- All persons using this pool shall take a cleansing shower bath in the nude, using warm water and soap thoroughly rinsing off all soap suds before entering the pool room or enclosure. A bather leaving the pool to use the toilet shall take a second cleansing bath before returning to the pool room or enclosure.

Q Are life jackets and inner tubes provided?
ACoast Guard approved life jackets are available on a first come, first serve basis at various locations. We recommend children under 48 inches and weak or non-swimmers wear a life jacket. Inflatable toys are not allowed in the water attraction. Inner tubes are provided for select slides and rivers and are available on a first come/first serve basis. Guests may use their own Coast Guard approved life jackets or puddle jumpers. -
Q Are towels provided?
ATowels are provided upon entering SoundWaves. You may wish to bring your own beach towel since we ask that towels remain in the water attraction area. -
Q Are lifeguards on duty at SoundWaves?
AYes, lifeguards are on duty at each attraction at SoundWaves. Lifeguards are trained in CPR and First Aid. -
Q Are cabanas available?
AA limited number of indoor and seasonal outdoor cabanas are available to rent daily by guests who have pre-purchased a SoundWaves experience. Each cabana seats up to six guests, and conjoining cabanas are available for up to 12 guests. Cabanas include 4 bottles of water, refrigerator, and TV. Food and beverage cabana service is available for additional purchase. Once you have reserved your SoundWaves Water Experience package, Cabanas can be reserved online at www.SoundWavesCabanas.com based on availability. -
Q Are lockers and changing facilities available?
ALockers are available within the indoor and outdoor areas and may be rented for a nominal fee. Larger items, such as luggage, will need to be kept in your room, vehicle or stored with Bell Services. Changing facilities are available in SoundWaves as well. -
Q Can I tan indoors at SoundWaves?
AThe state-of-the-art roofing system at SoundWaves does allow UV rays into the facility year round. We encourage all guests to use sunscreen. -
Q Are shaded areas available?
AA limited number of umbrellas are available in both the indoor and outdoor facilities on a first come, first served basis. To ensure shade all day, inquire about booking one of our cabanas. Guests are not permitted to bring their own umbrellas. -
Q Can I purchase sunscreen at SoundWaves?
ASundries including sunscreen, lip balm, hats and unique souvenirs will be available for purchase at the SoundWaves gift shop. -
Q What attire and footwear is required?
AOne or two-piece bathing suits for females and swim trunks for males are required; cutoffs and thong swimwear are not permitted. Aqua socks are recommended. Cover ups, shirts and shoes are required in all resort public areas outside of SoundWaves. -
Q Can I bring my own food or drink?
ACoolers of any style and outside food and beverages are not permitted; all bags are subject to inspection at entrance. SoundWaves offers a comprehensive menu of food and beverages. Guests will be allowed to bring one unopened plastic water bottle (20oz or smaller) per person. Any personal drink containers or tumblers (e.g., Tervis, Yeti, etc.) must be emptied prior to entering SoundWaves; glass drink containers are not permitted. Overnight SoundWaves guests only may purchase food and drink at the resort's restaurants and bars, and bring into SoundWaves. -
Q Is SoundWaves ADA accessible?
AOur facility and attractions are ADA compliant. Water slides are exempt from ADA requirements. -
Q Is there a designated smoking area?
AGaylord Opryland Resort and SoundWaves has a smoke-free policy. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas of the resort. -
Q Are adult-only areas offered?
AThe indoor water experience features an adults-only infinity pool, bar and seating on the third floor. The outdoor water experience includes an adults-only flat water pool area. These features are accessible only to ages 18 and up and offered seasonally. -
Q Are toddler-friendly areas offered?
AYes, the multi-level play structures inside and outside are ideal for children. Swim diapers are required for all children who are not toilet trained. Wristband not required for ages 3 and under. -
Q Are chairs available?
AA variety of seating is available on a first come, first served basis, including chaise loungers, beach chairs and dining seats. -
Q How many slide attractions are offered?
ASoundWaves features 6 outdoor slides and 5 indoor slides along with multiple small slides on the children’s multi-play structures. -
Q Can I save my seat all day, even if I go back to my room?
ASeats are not permitted to be saved if leaving the SoundWaves area. For guaranteed all-day seating, please visit the SoundWaves Desk about cabana rentals. -
Q Can I wear my glasses or sunglasses?
AEye wear is permitted on all attractions, as long as it is secured by a strap. -
Q What if there is inclement weather on the day of my visit?
AFor the safety of our guests, outdoor attractions will be temporarily suspended until severe, inclement weather passes. The indoors will remain open, barring the need for a facility evacuation (e.g., tornado warning). We do not offer rainchecks and refunds. -
Q Why don’t I see SoundWaves packages available when booking online?
AIf the SoundWaves package is not listed, the water attraction is at full capacity for that date and unavailable or there is a minimum length of stay required. We suggest you select an alternate date to experience SoundWaves. Wristband not required for ages 3 and under. -
Q I have a hard cast for a broken bone, am I permitted to use the attractions at SoundWaves?
AGuests with hard casts are able to enjoy many of the attractions including the activity pool, wave pool, and lazy & rapids rivers. Hard casts are not permitted on the FlowRider or the 11 water slides. -
Q Where do I check-in upon arrival?
ASoundWaves package guests check-in at the Cascades Lobby Front Desk. Stay in the far right lane when turning into the Resort and follow signage for Guest Check-In. Guest room check-in time begins at 4pm. However, SoundWaves package guests may access SoundWaves from the time it opens on the day of check-in until noon the day of check-out. We recommend packing a smaller bag with bathing suits and a change of clothes and storing the rest of your luggage with Bell Services. -
Q What time can I check-in for my stay and when do I need to check out?
AGuest room check-in time begins at 4pm and check out times end at 11am. However, SoundWaves package guests may access SoundWaves from the time it opens on the day of check-in until noon the day of check-out. We recommend packing a smaller bag with bathing suits and a change of clothes and storing the rest of your luggage with Bell Services. -
Q When does SoundWaves open?
ASoundWaves is an upscale indoor/outdoor water attraction at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN. Indoor water attractions are open year round. Seasonal outdoor water attractions will typically be open select dates Memorial Day through Labor Day. Q What is the benefit of purchasing the SoundWaves Water Experience package?
ASoundWaves is reserved exclusively for guests who book the SoundWaves Water Experience overnight package. The water attraction has limited capacity to prevent overcrowding and keep the experience relaxed and comfortable. With this package, guests will receive guaranteed admission to SoundWaves; early access to SoundWaves on the day of arrival; baggage storage upon early arrival.Wristband not required for ages 3 and under.
Day passes for non-overnight guests are not offered. -
Q I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member. Can I use points for a SoundWaves Package?

Points cannot be used for attractions, but there are 2 options for Marriott Bonvoy members to experience SoundWaves:
