There's no magic recipe when it comes to successful grant writing for the arts. At times, it may seem like "everyone is getting a grant" to support their projects or organizations. Artists and arts administrators may wonder, "How can I get grant funding to support my latest project?" The answer depends on many factors, some of which may surprise you. Laurel Fisher, grants manager for Metro Arts, Nashville's Office of Arts + Culture, leads this seminar that seeks to demystify arts funding. Laurel will share grant-writing tips and discuss best practices for partnering with nonprofits on creative projects. Attendees will learn the benefits and limitations of grant funding and get an overview of other opportunities such as fellowships, residencies, and fiscal sponsorship. You'll find out who and what can and can't be funded, learn how to research funders and funding programs, and get tips for applications and grant management. Presented in partnership with Metro Arts, Nashville's Office of Arts + Culture. Parking: Visitor parking is located in the lot next to the Hitch Building and along the street on West Belmont Blvd. The Hitch Building is number 20 on Belmont University's campus map.
